Carly Lukefahr, M.A., LPC-A

Carly believes that meaningful counseling begins with feeling known, supported, and understood. Her warmth, relational approach, and sincerity are the foundation for her work, and she finds deep purpose in walking alongside clients as they navigate difficult experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing, growth, and lasting joy.

Her therapeutic style is integrative and draws from behavioral, mindfulness-based, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approaches. In her work with individuals, Carly often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In her work with couples, Carly incorporates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen communication, deepen connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. She is also a certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator for couples seeking premarital counseling or marriage enrichment. Carly especially enjoys integrating faith into the counseling process for clients seeking a faith-based perspective.

Carly works primarily with adults, couples, college students, and teens. Her clinical interests and experience include:

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • OCD

  • Grief and Loss

  • Trauma

  • Life Transitions and Adjustment

  • Perinatal Mental Health and Motherhood

  • Relationship and Marital Issues

  • Faith-Based Counseling

Carly earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University, where she also received additional training in Marriage and Family Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. Prior to pursuing counseling, Carly spent several years working in the nonprofit world before feeling called into the counseling profession. Carly is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Julie Summers, LPC-S.

Outside of counseling, Carly loves spending time with her husband and two young children. She and her husband are actively involved in their church and West Houston Young Life, where they previously served as volunteer leaders for four years. She loves traveling, long walks, coffee, and quality time with family and friends over good Tex-Mex.
