Claire Johnson, Graduate Student Intern
Claire is currently completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of St. Thomas and will graduate in August 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2023 and is currently supervised by Allie Sauls, LPC-S. Claire has been providing counseling services to adolescents and adults for over a year through outpatient, school-based, and community mental health settings.
Claire enjoys working with children, teens, college students, and young adults navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, academic stress, perfectionism, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and emotional regulation difficulties.
Her counseling approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. Claire strongly believes every person deserves to be met with compassion and without judgment, regardless of their background or struggles. She views counseling as an opportunity for clients to better understand themselves, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Claire believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of counseling while also valuing practical, evidence-based tools clients can apply in their everyday lives. Her work primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also incorporating person-centered, mindfulness-based, and strengths-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs.
