Christopher Echevarria, Graduate Student Intern

Christopher is a counseling student intern under the supervision of the practice founder Julie Summers, LPC-S. He is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston and has earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University. Christopher enjoys working with high school aged adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults navigating major life transitions, career decisions, stress and anxiety, work-life balance concerns, and general personal growth. He assists clients with identity development, values clarification, and goal setting as clients prepare for important educational, career, and life decisions. While his primary interests are working with adolescents and adults, he welcomes the opportunity to support clients across a variety of ages and presenting concerns.

Christopher’s approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused perspectives to help clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while using their strengths to develop practical skills to create meaningful change. He believes that insight and self-awareness, combined with practical strategies, can help individuals navigate challenges more effectively and build lasting resilience. Personal growth is not a stand process, and adapting to each client's needs is especially relevant

Christopher believes that personal growth and development is a lifelong endeavor and counseling provides a unique opportunity for individuals to better understand themselves, clarify their values, and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life. He strives to create a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the counseling process and beyond.
