Travis Ziegenbein, M.A., LPC-Associate
Travis Ziegenbein is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Julie Summers, LPC-S. He holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University, a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in Youth and Family Ministry from Abilene Christian University.
A native Houstonian, Travis spent over a decade in youth ministry working with students and young adults before feeling called to pursue a professional career in counseling. He now works with individuals ages 3 and up, with a particular passion for supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges.
Travis helps clients address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, grief, depression, school-related difficulties, stress, trauma, behavioral issues, and life transitions. He believes each person has the capacity for meaningful change and sees therapy as an opportunity to walk alongside clients with support, empathy, and tools for growth. His approach is warm, personalized, and rooted in meeting clients where they are.
Travis integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities into his work, including EMDR, Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Sand Tray Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). For clients who desire a faith-based approach, he is happy to incorporate spiritual integration into the counseling process. Travis also offers ADHD/ADD testing for children, adolescents, and adults.
Outside the counseling room, Travis has been married for over eight years and is a proud girl dad to three young daughters. He enjoys spending his free time playing with his kids, cooking, walking his Goldendoodle, and exploring new coffee shops around town.
