Ana Ince, M. Ed., LPC

Ana Ince is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has been practicing psychotherapy since 2015. Over the years, Ana has developed a passion for helping people who experienced a history of trauma in the form of emotional, physical, sexual or verbal abuse. People who present with trauma history may also experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Personality Disorders, Shame, Low Self Esteem, Spiritual Distress, Marital Distress and Addictions. Ana’s aim is to address any of these concerns and equip her clients to know themselves and their stories well enough to anticipate the challenges their past may bring. This knowing requires the development of trust and patience between the therapist and client as they explore and collaborate together.

While all client cases are different, the one thing clients have in common is that they want to get well. They want their quality of life to improve. They want to be free from suffering. This is the focus of each session, to get the client to a better place, empowered with the tools necessary to address any challenge.

Ana graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling. Ana’s training continued at The McLean OCD Institute, where she learned the skills to treat Anxiety Disorders, OCD and Phobias using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Ana attended the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), a three day intensive training on CBT and ERP. Ana employs different therapeutic approaches based on the clients individual needs, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma and Grief Component Therapy (TGCT) and Attachment Therapy. Ana is also a certified Prepare–Enrich facilitator and can provide premarital and marital counseling.

Therapy groups Ana facilitates:

Survivors Group: This group meets for 12 sessions and is for adult women with a history of childhood sexual abuse. In a safe and confidential environment, Ana will address the effect that sexual abuse has in the survivors’ identity and their ability to relate with others. She will also address the obstacles to healing from the trauma and equip and empower the participants to address those obstacles in a way that will get them closer to the person they were created to be.

Break Free from Anxiety Group: This group meets for 6 sessions and is for adults experiencing debilitating anxiety. Ana uses evidence based treatment proven to help decrease anxiety symptoms. Ana will offer education on anxiety disorders and the many ways they manifest themselves. She will equip participants with tools and adaptive coping strategies to not only manage anxiety but take back control of their life.
