FAQs

  • Most individuals seek counseling when they find themselves ready for some type of change or healing. This could be followed by a major life event such as a job transition, loss of a loved one, changes in health, or a significant move. This could also be the result of experiencing stress, anxiety, changes in mood, or relational issues. Some individuals simply want to take the time to reflect and better understand where they come from, where they are, and where they are going. Regardless of your current situation, we believe that anyone and everyone can benefit from having a safe space to process and deal with the stress of day to day life.

  • At Heritage we have a variety of licensed therapists to meet the needs of every individual. We utilize a “bio-psycho-social” philosophy to treating our patients. This is a fancy way of saying we treat the entire person. We believe that the individual is a complex combination of mind, body and spirit. At Heritage we don’t buy into the text book guide to therapy. We believe that the help you need is unique to you. At Heritage, we meet you where you are, learn from where you have been and empower you to get where you need to go.

  • When looking for a therapist, you will see all kinds of licenses, specialties and letters at the end of the therapist’s name. As confusing as it is, licensing and certification are very important. You should be looking for a therapist with the compassion and understanding that fits your personality, but the knowledge and expertise that comes with licensing and certification are essential to your success.

  • We employ what we call a “Bio-psycho-social” methodology. This is a clinical way of saying we treat the entire person. We believe that the individual is more than any one of these components and to fully meet your needs, we have to treat the whole person. At Heritage, because of our diversity of counselors, we are uniquely able to treat the whole person. In some cases, we may even suggest an athletic or physical component to therapy. At Heritage, we meet you where you are, learn from where you have been and empower you to get where you need to go.
