Farrin works with clients ages 12 and up, who are struggling with various types of mental health issues. She is most well-versed in dealing with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief, Mood Disorders, and Personality Disorders. Farrin particularly enjoys doing identity work with clients in order to help them build a sense of self and self-confidence. Farrin believes that self-discovery is one of the most important journeys we can embark on as humans.

From Farrin:

“I ascribe to a humanistic and psychodynamic approach and philosophy of counseling with some cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) mixed in. I believe people are continually in the process of becoming their most authentic and congruent selves. I focus on client’s emotions, perspectives, and life experiences, rather than just treating symptoms. I believe incongruence and internalized conditions of worth contribute to emotional and psychological distress. However, within a therapeutic relationship characterized by unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and non-judgment I believe people can experience the necessary conditions to fulfill their innate capacity. I believe each client is different, what works for one will not work for all. Therefore, I take a dynamically informed approach when creating a treatment plan that will work best for each individual.”
