Emily Walker, Graduate Student Intern

Emily is a graduate intern completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of St. Thomas, accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). She is under the supervision of Allie Sauls, MA, LPC-S. Emily has a BA in Public Relations from Texas Tech University. Emily is passionate about helping individuals of all ages navigate challenges, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions.

Passionate about the importance of mental wellbeing, Emily is committed to providing her clients with the best care possible. Her approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, a theory that focuses on understanding the client’s unique experiences and fosters a strong therapeutic alliance. Emily believes in the power of meeting clients where they are and helping them navigate their personal journey towards healing and self-discovery. Emily firmly believes that people have the innate capacity to face situations with resilience. Emily approaches clients with empathy and encouragement; she guides her clients in identifying their strengths and resources, helping them work towards achievable goals
