Play Therapy

Play therapy is used by counselors who developmentally meet children where they are and help them express their needs and emotions through the therapeutic powers of play. In play therapy, our counselors use play to help kids work through life difficulties and psychological issues. During sessions, counselors use playtime to observe and gain insights into what children are going through. Play therapy can be used to help children learn new coping mechanisms and how to manage or redirect inappropriate behaviors. This method of therapy can help kids to take more responsibility for their behaviors, develop self-respect and respect and empathy for others, alleviate their anxiety, experience and express their feelings, strengthen their social skills, and develop coping and problem-solving skills.
